My Story
Hi, I'm Rebecca.
If you're reading this, chances are you've been dealing with something for a while now. Maybe it's the racing thoughts that won't quit. Maybe it's that constant low-grade anxiety humming in the background of your life.
Or maybe you've tried to manage things on your own. The apps, the books, the 'just push through it' approach. None of it was cutting it anymore. I get it. I've been there. Anxiety, depression, ADHD. I felt all of it long before I had words for what was happening. My family did the best they could with what they knew. They were surviving. And for a long time, so was I.
Something worth knowing: reaching out for help isn't a weakness. It's a skill. And it's one most people never use. The average person waits eleven years between first experiencing mental health symptoms and actually getting help. Eleven years of white-knuckling it.
You don't have to wait that long.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist
Like most things in life, I did all the wrong things first.
I spent over two decades in school social work and administration. I watched teachers, staff, and families pour everything they had into our kids, then struggle with their own mental health behind closed doors.
COVID made it worse. Way worse. People were exhausted, overwhelmed, and running on empty with nowhere to turn.
That's when things finally fell into place. My calling wasn't just in what I'd learned from textbooks. It was in the years I'd spent learning, leading, and living inside this work. I had a vast array of lived experience that was actually valuable to others, and I could share it in a way that made a real difference.
So that's what I'm doing now. Building something that matters. Helping people who are ready to do the work.
And surrounding myself with a team of therapists who believe the same thing I do: practical support changes lives.

My Professional Background
I hold a Master's in Social Work from Minnesota State University-Mankato and an Educational Specialist degree from the Edina campus. My undergraduate work was in Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in both Minnesota and Massachusetts, with over 20 years of experience in mental health systems, primarily school-based and community settings. My background blends clinical practice, systems work, and real-world application.
My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and positive psychology, all grounded in a 'person in environment' framework. In plain English: I help you understand what's happening, give you tools that actually work, and we build from there.

As a Therapist
Philosophies I work by
-
Regulation before insight. Your nervous system leads the work. We can't think our way out of a stress response. We have to ground the body first.
-
You're the expert on you. I bring tools and strategies. You bring the knowledge of your own life. We figure it out together.
-
Small, sustainable changes. Big results come from consistent small steps. Some days 1% better, some days 100% better. We build skills you can actually use.
-
The body holds information. Sometimes your body knows what's going on before your brain catches up. We pay attention to both.
-
Clarity over comfort. We get specific about what's happening and what to do about it. No vague advice, no endless exploration without direction.
-
Community heals. Once you've got your emotional regulation in place, connection with others becomes possible again. Building that community is intentional, and it's part of the work.
-
You've got this, and we've got you. That's not just a tagline. It's how we show up, every session, every interaction.
